How to Play Track Wars

Track Wars is a free, massively multiplayer browser racing game - one persistent figure‑8 track shared by everyone at once. There's no download and no tutorial to sit through; this guide gets you from the start screen to a competitive lap in a couple of minutes.

Getting started

You're on the track within seconds:

  1. Open the game. Head to trackwars.io in any modern browser on desktop or mobile - no install, no launcher, no account.
  2. Pick your driver. Type a name, choose a car type and a colour. Each car has slightly different stats for speed, grip, boost and turn rate, so try a few.
  3. Drop in. Hit Drop In and you're on the live track alongside every other racer and the AI bots that keep the field busy.
  4. Start driving. The world is already running - just accelerate and find your line. Your fastest lap goes straight onto the leaderboard.

Controls

Track Wars plays with a keyboard on desktop or with on‑screen touch controls on a phone or tablet - same track, cross‑platform.

Speed alone won't win races - knowing your tools will.

Sprint races & King of the Track

Between free‑roam sessions the world automatically locks into a sprint race: an idle countdown, a grid lock, a five‑light start sequence, then a five‑lap dash with live F1‑style positions. Everyone currently on the track is entered, so grids can be huge.

Win a sprint and you're crowned King of the Track - you wear the crown (a marker floats above your car) until the next race decides a new winner. Humans and bots can both hold it, and anyone can take it from you, so every race is a title fight.

The track: bridge & tunnel

The circuit is a figure‑8, which means the two loops cross. At the crossing, one path runs over a bridge and the other through a tunnel, so cars pass safely over and under each other. Learn where the height changes are - they're great spots to line up a clean pass.
